Many stadiums, arenas and event venues now limit the bags fans can bring inside, and most of these policies are built around clear bags. If you are ordering custom clear bags for a team, booster club, school or sponsor giveaway, this guide covers the most widely used size rule and how to pick a bag from our catalog. Rules differ by venue and change over time, so always check your venue's policy before you order.
The NFL clear bag rule
The best-known policy is the NFL's. Under the league's published policy, fans may carry:
- One clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bag that does not exceed 12" x 6" x 12". This includes clear backpacks, clear fanny packs and clear cinch bags that fit within those dimensions.
- Or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag.
- Plus one small non-clear bag (such as a clutch) no larger than 4.5" x 6.5", with or without a handle or strap.
The NFL policy also says a logo can appear on only one side of the bag, and that buckles, hardware or decoration cannot conceal any part of the bag. Many other stadiums and venues use the same or a similar rule, but some are stricter and some allow other sizes. Check your venue's policy before ordering.
What this means for a custom clear bag order
- Size: compare the bag's listed dimensions with your venue's limit. Every product page lists the bag size.
- Logo placement: if your venue follows the NFL rule, plan a logo on one side only.
- Material: our clear bags are vinyl. Some have colored trim or accents; check that trim does not cover the bag if your venue prohibits it.
Our clear bags with listed sizes within 12" x 6" x 12"
Based on the dimensions on each product page, these bags measure within 12" x 6" x 12". We do not certify any bag as approved by a league or venue; confirm with your venue's policy.
